Sino-U.S. tensions moved up a notch on Tuesday, after the Senate approved a controversial bill to punish China over its currency. Even as the value of the yuan and its impact on trade remain key points of contention between both sides, market watchers say the move is largely political, and such a legislation will do little to help the U.S. economy.
